We had this photo shoot scheduled and had to get up at 6 AM in Kalamazoo, MI where we'd played the night before. After flying to NY we went directly to Big John's house in Brooklyn where we changed into rented 1912 tuxedos so that we would all look the part of the musicians playing in the band on the Titanic. The LP cover photo was taken by photographer Ruth Bernal who was a longtime friend of the Chapin family and band. The photo shoot took place on The Peking which is one of the boats that is still docked at the South Street Seaport and is still open for boarding and viewing. It was freezing out there and I was still battling a fever and illness. Check the LP cover out here just in case if you've ever wondered who all the other people are in the cover shot.

Above left: Michael Solomon (Chapin band soundman) Above right: Jeff Gross (Chapin band lighting man and road manager) Below, left to right: Doug Walker (guitar), John Wallace (bass), Harry, Steve Chapin (keyboards), Kim Scholes (cello), Howard Fields (drums). John Hart (John is Harry & Steve's half brother from their mom's second marriage. It was mighty chilly that day out on the boat and I remember John having a little accident holding that tray with the champagne glasses on it. I hope they weren't expensive).
